"Raat Rani " From Modern Love Mumbai to understand the Concept of "Independence" .

This task is assigned by Vaidehi Ma'am. In this blog I am going to write according to my views and Understanding of the Concept of "Independence" from the Web series 'Modern Love Mumbai' First Episode "Raat Rani". There are some points to ponder which I am going to write in this blog.

"Raat Rani"

"Raat Rani" challenges traditional societal norms by portraying an unconventional love story. The episode revolves around a  woman, Lali, who embraces her true identity and strives for independence against the odds. It sheds light on the struggles faced by individuals who deviate from societal expectations, emphasizing the importance of self-acceptance and freedom to live authentically.

Independence, in the context of this episode, extends beyond the physical realm. It explores the emotional journey of the characters, particularly Lali, who breaks free from the emotional shackles imposed by her past. By letting go of her Husband ,Lali finds the strength to pursue her desires and live life on her terms. This exemplifies the empowering nature of independence, emphasizing the need to overcome internal barriers.

Let's Discuss some Points to Ponder.

Points to Ponder:-

  • List down the contradictory symbols you observed in the episode “Raat Rani”.

  • Which is your favorite symbol from Raat Rani? Why?

  • Which is your favorite frame from the episode? Why?

  • Compare and write a note on all the women characters from Raat Rani.

  • “Courage is Contagious” – Give an example for this from the episode.

  • Share a picture of yours with a woman who is your source of courage. Give a creative title to it.

1. List down the contradictory symbols you observed in the episode “Raat Rani”.

- I observed some of the symbols like..

1. Bike and Bicycle:

-When we see Lutfi's bike and how he threatened  Lali that he will go without her. and after that when we  see Lali's bicycle she is independent and we could see her frustration. After that we came to know that she bought him a bike so, here we can see contradictory symbols of Bike and Bicycle.

2. Shoes:

- when she broke up with Lutfi after that in anger and in frustration her Slipper brakes and after her madam gave her shoes and headphones. Here we could find that she moved in her life.

3. Flyover = Self Independence:

-When we first see that at first she can cross the Flyover but after one point she can cross the Flyover with confidence on her face. This is her Victory over her dependency on her husband.

4. Taj Mahal:

- We all Know that The Taj Mahal is a symbol of love but when we see Lutfi and Lali being a Part at that time we could see a symbol of love. It is a contrast symbol.

so, there are some symbols which I have observed.

2. Which is your favorite symbol from Raat Rani? Why?

-I Love many Symbols from Episode 'Raat Rani' but here I will talk only about one or two symbols which are very good and also that symbols symbols are like,

1.Statue of Liberty

2. Flower of Raat Rani

- These two are very deep and meaningful symbols of the episode. Like when we see one symbol that when Lutfi and Lali were being A-part at that time we can see a symbol of love The Taj Mahal and after that we can see a "Statue of Liberty". Here we can interpret that Liberty of Lali from her husband when she says that, "you are Late Lutfi" here we can see that now she has started living life according to her own terms. Now she is independent and she doesn't care about her husband now she can buy ice-cream by her own.

- Second symbol is about the "Raat Rani Flower". So this Symbol is also significant because Raat rani is the name of Episode as well. In the End we could see that when Lali is explaining the importance of the Flower of Raat Rani? She said that There is a long-held belief that Raat Rani attracts snakes. The overpoweringly pleasant smell of the Sandalwood tree and certain powerfully pleasant-smelling flower plants, such as Raat Rani, is said to attract snakes. As a result, people are advised not to grow these plants in their homes. But Raat Rani's smell is very powerful. She said what happened but no one can overpower the smell of Flower Raat Rani.

3. Which is your favorite frame from the episode? Why?

-My Favorite Frame is when she came over her Fear and when she crossed flyover it was my Favorite moment. when we came over our fear it was a victory. When she literally moved on in her life she left her Husband and lived her life.

4. Compare and write a note on all the women characters from Raat Rani.

- There are 3 or 4 female characters which all are different from Each other. like there is maid Lalzari, Lawyer Ray, Ray’s clients.

They all are different from each other like Lali is a maid and she is very dependent on his husband but after he left her she started becoming  independent and she crossed the flyover on her own. Here we can interpret Flyover as self love, self acceptance, Independence. On the other side we can see Ray. She is very independent as she is a Layer and earning well.

5. “Courage is Contagious” – Give an example for this from the episode.

-What Courage is Contagious :The Rev. Billy Graham said, “Courage is contagious. When one man takes a stand, the spines of others are stiffened.'' So, here in this episode of Raat rani we could see that when Lali takes a stand for herself when she crosses a flyover she gets confident and starts taking stand for herself. She is very courageous because after moving on after her husband Left her she started living her life according to her own terms and conditions. She started running her own business like she is earning for herself. Now she can buy Ice-cream by herself. So, now we can say she became an independent woman.

6.Share a picture of yours with a woman who is your source of courage. Give a creative title to it.

Here is a Source of my Courage: My Mom

Here is a Creative title for my Mom: "The Sparkling Star of My Galaxy"
